Planning the trip

Bryan Akre has always sought and welcomed challenges. He started with small trips, like the Golden Triangle with Phil Guebert but had bigger dreams.  So, in 2009, he cycled across Canada, from Vancouver to Stephenville, Newfoundland.  Then, in 2013, he cycled from Abbotsford, BC all the way down highway 101 in the USA to the end of the line at Imperial Beach, California.

Cycling to Inuvik is his latest project, starting on June 1st. He will cycle from Hope, BC, continuing to Prince George, Dawson Creek , Whitehorse, Dawson City then on to the Dempster Highway to finish at Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Crossing the Arctic Circle, and cycling in the 24-hour daylight will be some of the thrills.  Janet will share the adventure with him by driving the motorhome, documenting the trip in a blog along the way, and posting the adventure online as wifi connectivity permits.

If you are anywhere along our route, we would love to hear from you. Contact us at bjakre@hotmail.com or on Facebook. We can't promise that we will be able to meet up with you but wouldn't that be fun?!

Follow us as WiFi and connectivity allow. We look forward to sharing our adventure with you!

Janet....head blogger and RV driver.
